Kinins and Complement

Preliminary results showed that BK production in a human reconstitution system using purified proteins is almost as efficient at 0°C as at 37°C, whereas the control of contact phase by C1Inh is only efficient at 37°C. This prompted us to investigate both the physiological significance and the importance in the evolution of this unexpected enzymatic property. To this aim, has been built up a mathematical model of enzymatic reactions of contact phase.
