Rheumatoid arthtritis (RA)

The objective of this project is to characterize the pro- and anti-inflammatory roles of S100A8/A9 with a focus on the impact of ROS on S100A8/A9 oxidation. In collaboration with Dr S Bréchard and Prof E Tschirart (Life Sciences Research, University of Luxembourg) we will assess the importance of ROS-induced post-translational modification of S100A8/A9 proteins in RA patient synovial fluid. Then we will target S100A8/A9 expression in mouse models of RA.
